FC USA NAMES CHARLENE LEISS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND MARKETING – CORPORATE BRANDS USA

Award-Winning Industry Veteran, Top Producer Globally Two Consecutive Years, To Expand Role and Further Drive New Business Acquisition Strategy
 

FC USA has promoted Charlene Leiss to senior vice president of the corporate brands within its portfolio.  Previously Leiss was national sales leader of the FCm Travel Solutions and Corporate Traveler brands, a position she held for two years.  With this promotion comes a marketing focus whereby Leiss will ensure alignment across the brands to support new business acquisition strategies and a sharing of best practices.  FC USA’s corporate brands include FCm Travel Solutions, Corporate Traveler, Stage and Screen Travel Services, cievents and Travel Associates.

Leiss has been recognized on numerous occasions for her outstanding performance; most noteworthy is the honor she received for the past two consecutive years: Top Global Corporate BDM.  This accolade signals out her performance among all of Australian-based Flight Centre Travel Group’s businesses, across the more-than 90 countries in which it operates, among a pool of 1,000-plus corporate sales people.  Within FC USA Leiss has been the top corporate sales person for five years in a row.  She has achieved double-digit, often record setting growth, year over year.  

While new business acquisition and driving revenue are clearly strengths of Leiss, her passion lies in adding value to her team of 60, with plans to reach 70 people by year end.  Now that she is overseeing the entire corporate sales team, Leiss will focus not only on growth, but retention as well by working closely with account management teams.  She has played an integral role in FC USA’s Client Advisory Group Forum for many years now and will continue to part of this committee.

Leiss’ career in travel began nearly 20 year ago with Boston-based Garber Travel.  She started at square one, as an administrator in the sales department, and got her hands into everything she could, from proposal writing to development of collateral and marketing materials.  Leiss took this as an opportunity to learn the business from the ground up and in just a short time her palpable passion paid off when a position in the sales department opened up.  The entrée into sales was a ladder for Leiss, moving up the ranks to VP of sales.  When Garber Travel was acquired by FC USA, Leiss was a key part of the transition.  Just 10 months after the acquisition Leiss was promoted to national sales leader USA for FCm Travel Solutions and Corporate Traveler, and then promoted to vice president of sales, the position she held until this well-deserved move.   

Leiss received her BA in English from St. Michael’s College in Vermont.  She resides in Topsfield, MA with her husband and four children.
